General Information
Torquay is situated at the gateway to the Great Ocean Road and is the capital of the Australian Surfing Industry. It is one of the country's most popular resort towns.


The Torquay Tropicana is a five minute walk to Beach and Surf City Plaza, tourist information centre and the Surf World Museum. Surf City Plaza has the surf giants Rip Curl and Quicksilver plus many smaller surf companies.


Torquay Tropicana Motel is set on two and a half acres of lawns and gardens and includes 18 ground floor units, 4 executive honeymoon suites with spa, recreation room, conference room, undercover BBQ, guest laundry, solar heated outdoor pool and heated spa.


Local Attractions
There are plenty of things to do including shopping at Surf City Plaza just a short five minute walk, surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing (lessons are available) or just laze on the beautiful nearby beaches. You can go skating next to the Surf World Museum.

The motel is just a five minute drive to Bells Beach, host of the Rip Curl Pro every Easter, easy access to the Bellarine Peninsula where the Queenscliff ferry sails for Sorrento and the gateway to the Great Ocean Road.
