Location
From Sydney, Follow road signs to Adelaide. Road will become Argent Street. Turn Right at Oxide Street (this will be the first set of lights you come to). Continue on Oxide Street until you see the Southern Cross Hotel(approximately the 3rd street) and turn Left – this is Cobalt Street
From Adelaide, travel down Williams Street until you get to Oxide Street Roundabout, turn Right into Oxide Street, about 5 streets down you will see the Southern Cross Hotel on your right hand side, turn Right into Cobalt Street.
From Mildura, turn left at the first roundabout and follow the road to the City centre. Over the Overpass it turns into Crystal Street. Just past the Railway Station, turn left into Oxide Street and follow until Southern Cross Hotel is on your left hand side (approx 4th street down). Turn left into Cobalt Street

Set in a prime location in the Southern Cross Hotel and Dunes Restaurant complex which features formal or bistro dining, cocktail lounge, and a large main bar where you can relax with the friendly locals. Broken Hill Visitors centre is located 500 metres from the Desert Sand and Tour buses collect guests daily from reception to visit underground mines, Silverton, Menindee Lakes, Heritage trail, White Cliffs, art galleries and to capture sunsets.
Desert Sand is walking distance from the Railway, Mineral and Train museum, and the Silver Mint Art Gallery where they make jewellery and hold the one of the world’s largest paintings.
